Last night, my husband told me he’s in love with another woman. I’ve heard that I can divorce him because of adultery. Is this true?
Yes, it is true, but not nearly as easy as it sounds. Massachusetts has both fault and no-fault grounds for divorce, while adultery is one of the “fault” grounds for divorce, the fault must be proven in court and is actually difficult to prove. Please note that divorce documents are public records and once your husband is informed of this, he may choose not to admit to adultery. |
